Today’s news is the daily ‘AI research radar’, a roll call of whatever is trending in AI research, from new models to papers. Open it and the screen fills with blips: flash versions, 2B, 27B, so many that counting them is tiring. But the blips share one thing. Most of them are models living on somebody else’s platform, which means every ‘let’s try it’ sends our data outside the fence once. So our four-year-old chief pointed the radar at the blips, and accidentally pointed it back at her own company.
