A one-liner going around X yesterday landed a little too well: prompt engineering became context engineering, then harness, then loop, and now graph engineering, and every new label gets treated like a revolution. In plain terms: prompting is what you ask, context is how much you show, a harness is the wiring around the model (tools, verification gates, output contracts), a loop feeds results back in until something passes, and a graph pins those steps into nodes and edges. All five are useful, and we use all five. But five names do not make five problems. What usually multiplies is the number of line items on your invoice.

One lesson stuck with us: what survives a renaming cycle is not the label, it’s owning the wiring underneath it.
